Class 4: Oct. 11 – Documentary – The Future of Food

Steve and Laura graciously returned to show a documentary - The Future of Food - that Scott had been instrumental in bringing to the Nashvhille area.

The producers of the film tell the story of governments recently giving corporations the right to patent life forms and small farmers losing the rights to grow the seeds they have treasured for decades. The film also highlights the concerns about genetically engineered food and the political/corporate power against labeling foods that contain genetically modified substances.

The response of the two students who came to this class made it evident they were affected by what they had heard and seen in the ninety-minute film. One of them chose to lead a curent events discussion at the local library about organic food.
